When the No. 3 Nittany Lions travel to Iowa City to play the Hawkeyes Saturday, before they take the field, they will have to contend with the dreaded pink room — which has grown pinker since Penn State last played at Iowa in 2003. …
Senior Penn State offensive tackle Gerald Cadogan also has a psychology degree. Cadogan said Tuesday that “pink is a color normally associated with feminine characteristics” and Iowa’s goal is to intimidate opponents by making them feel soft. Cadogan also said the pink will only effect him and his teammates if they let it. …

[RyAnne] Ridge, originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, left the CU team last season after playing in seven games, averaging 1.9 minutes per game while scoring one point. She is still a student at CU.
She and her father, Stephen, are named as plaintiffs in the suit and are seeking an unspecified amount in tuition and other expenses. They are claiming that because [Kathy] McConnell-Miller promised Ridge a scholarship — and she left her scholarship at Tulsa because of that — CU should have to pay the family. …

Lute Olson was head coach at Iowa from 1974 to 1983.

Former Chicago Latin star Kenny George, a senior center at UNC Asheville, had part of his right foot amputated, a source confirmed to ESPN.com. The source said the amputation, which occurred three weeks ago, was the result of George’s battle with MRSA …
He has been hospitalized in Iowa since then, the source said, enduring several surgeries and at one time battling for his life. …
