To illustrate the immense suffering and routine cruelty that pigs endure before they are made into ham and bacon, two pig sculptures–confined to metal stalls just as pigs on factory farms are–will be displayed on a busy intersection in Cedar Rapids on Saturday. Good! I think everyone needs to be made aware of what torture and suffering these animals endure before they become “food”. The alternatives are so much better for all of us… better for health, better for the planet – and certainly better for the animals. We can end this cruelty by going vegan… now.
