Iowa authorities have charged a Wilbur Wright College basketball player who was one of several team members under investigation for an alleged sexual attack on a junior college student at an Ottumwa hotel during a basketball tournament in December.
Charles L. Peden, 19, of Maywood was arrested in the western suburb Wednesday on a fugitive warrant from Wapello County, Iowa. He is being held at Cook County Jail and plans to fight extradition to Iowa, Cook County court officials said.
The warrant was issued March 7, according to court records and cites a charge of third-degree sexual abuse. …
The victim told police that she remembered drinking and hanging out with the players, but did not remember having sexual intercourse with any of them.
