Why do we wait for the obvious. What a waste of a magnificant source of energy. We have rebuilt the Iowa River dam in Coralville and again made no opportunity to harnass this resource. 100 years ago these rivers were the source of power and the reason for moving industry and communities to these shores. Now while we try to harnass the wind, the obvious sources are totally ignored. Even in Amana, they continue to use power from substantially less moving water, and we seem helpless to get someone to see that we need to get into the 19th. Century had use these resources.
