U.S. Marshals release:
Marshalltown, IA - A violent fugitive task force led by U.S. Marshals arrested Shane Allen Wessel late last night in Marshalltown, IA. Wessel, one of Metro’s Most Wanted, was being sought on arrest warrants issued in Polk and Warren counties for various charges including Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Carrying Concealed Weapons, Eluding, and Theft.
Numerous cooperating local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies including: the U.S. Marshals; the Polk County Sheriff’s Office; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms; the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force; the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and the Metro S.T.A.R. team had been looking for Wessel since October. This cooperative effort, combined with various tips from the community, led to recent information that Wessel may be hiding out in Marshalltown. …
