According to the Iowa Lottery:

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Linn County man recently won a significant lottery prize for the second time this year!

Edward Murphy, 50, of Marion won $33,333 playing the “Winning in 3’s” (blue) instant-scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Short Stop, 340 Marion Blvd. in Marion and claimed his prize at the Iowa Lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

This is the second time Murphy hit the top prize in a “Winning in 3’s” scratch game. He also won the top prize in May playing the Winning in 3’s (purple) game. …

The University of Iowa was awarded a $50,400 grant for a project titled “Central America’s Encounter with U.S. Manifest Destiny, 1848-1860,” and a grant of $50,400 for a project titled “The Rise and Fall of Christian Nagaski, 1560- 1640.” …

From CNN today:

Thirty percent of likely Iowa Democratic caucus-goers support Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York as the nominee, with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois at 28 percent and former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina at 26 percent, according to the poll, released Thursday morning. …

On the Republican side, 33 percent of likely GOP caucus-goers support former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as the nominee.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney comes in second place at 25 percent, followed by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani with 11 percent. …
